Harry Hopkins, 1951-1982

"That lighthouse brings back such wonderful memories of my grampa.....whenever mom & dad would take us there as kids and we got to stay overnight, grampa would always get up early with us kids in the morning and make us his famous pancakes (or whatever he wanted!). That was always such a treat - my mom and dad got to sleep in, and it was just us kids and grampa in the kitchen (gramma stayed in bed too). Grampa would take us swimming off the rocks at the base of the lighthouse, and he took us up the lighthouse tower itself a few times (before it was automated). Family gatherings at the lighthouse meant grampa's burgers - which were humongous! and delicious...and every visit to the lighthouse meant that gamma's homemade bread and sticky buns were sure to be waiting for us. And I remember long walks there, looking for lady slippers and Indian paintbrushes and trillium's.
