Cabot Head offers the Lighthouse Assistant Program, a very popular component to the Cabot Head experience. 

As the Assistant Lightkeeper, you have the unique opportunity of actually living in the lighthouse for a week. You will assist with light chores and meet and greet visitors from far and wide as you spend time in the lighthouse, the gift store, and around the grounds. Outside of public visiting hours, enjoy the peaceful majesty of a morning coffee as the sun rises over Georgian Bay, quiet walks along the shore, watching signals of lighthouses many miles away on a clear night, and falling asleep to the sound of waves.

Assistant Lightkeepers must be members of the Friends of Cabot Head and at least 18 years of age. The lighthouse accommodates either one or two people per stay. Dogs are not permitted in the lighthouse. Weeks run from Monday to Sunday.
