What's New at Cabot Head?

Year of the Light Celebrations

The years of 2008 and 2009 are the 150th. birthday years of the Imperial Towers in Bruce County.

Art Gallery Open

Friends of Cabot Head's The Shipwreck Art Gallery is now open all summer. Housed in what was once the fog horn building, now renovated with a picture window on Georgian Bay, the gallery exhibits works of local artists depicting lakes and land, flora and fauna.

Featured artists include Charles Robinson and Geoffrey Nixon. We are interested in additional visual artists and carvers who would like to exhibit their work and spend time in the gallery practicing their craft and meeting the public. For more details, contact the lighthouse 519-795-7780."

Once again, the Cabot Head Lightstation is hosting cache hides:

For the sixth year, the growing activity known as geocaching will
bring more visitors to Cabot Head as they use their GPS units to find
a "cache" hidden somewhere on the grounds. This is the first
multi-cache at Cabot Head which requires geocachers to collect
information from our historical plaques in order to solve the puzzle
and locate the hidden container. To find out more go to
www.geocaching.com and lookup cache waypoint GC1CPX1.
